goin' back to manila baby!

dear blogspot,

atlast!

the long wait's over baby!

i'm goin' back to my beloved manila.

hehehe.

it's ironic that i keep on longing for manila even if manila's one of the weirdest(for me) place to live. haha.

i dunno, i just love manila and i have to accept it's flaws, imperfections and mountains of trash. hehe.

i grew up in manila so i guess i got used to all the hustles and bustles of the city, and i even missed the heavy traffic jams, how is that?

i missed every place i've been to when i was in manila.

that sick nasty jones bridge, the much-invaded-by-tupians luneta park, quiapo, divisoria, the metropolitan makati, the fast-progressing quezon city -everythin'.

so til here.

lurve manila!

:)

american idol season 8 is really back.

february 11, 2009
thursday

dear blogspot,

hey the long wait is over -i mean it was over.
they are singing their hearts out to be in the most coveted idol top 24.
i mean who would not sing his heart out?

here are my early favorites:

ANOOP DESAI- hey, the guy's an indian. seriously, i wasn't expecting him to be that good. i guess first impression isn't always right. i love his performance wherein he sang that "my prerogative" song.

ADAM LAMBERT- the guy could be the next david cook. with vocal prowess like that, who wouldn't be impress? some of his performances sounded too theatrical because he was -you got it, he is from the music theater. did you hear him singing cher's believe? it was sick brilliant. hahaha.

LIL ROUNDS
- i'm not a fan of power belters but i fell inlove with this really awesome girl.
look what she did the day she sang whitney's i will always love you? the judges were awestruck and so was i.

SCOTT MCINTYRE- who would forget scott mcintyre? the visually impaired contestant who gave me goosebumps when he sang daughtry's home. i know that i'll he'll be in the top 12.

so there.
as of now, they are only the ones who impressed me.
who knows, maybe one of them will be the next idol.

jesse mccartney's "HOW DO YOU SLEEP"

hey.
it seems that jmac hasn't graduated from teeny-bopper songs yet.
with his new song, who would suspect that he is already 20 something?
not a fan since then but the song is damn catchy like his song beautiful song.
so far so good for jesse.
not a fan but i like it.
there.

kelly clarkson's "MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU"

hey.
after resting for months, the original american idol is back with her still spunky songs.
now she's ready to kick some ass with her latest single "my life would suck without you".
she will always be a good singer.
she is able to belt out really high tunes and yet she's still likeable.
(trivia: i am not so fond of the charice pempengco type. they make my ears bleed.)
she is a good cross between a rock and a pop singer that's why she hit the mainstream.
okay.
so i guess, kelly clarkson is really here( i mean in the music industry, stupid) to stay.
she may not be the most good-looking idol but atleast she's one of the best and she is the only one to sold millions of albums.
kudos.
so there.

rating: 4 stars.

the white tie affair's "CANDLE"

obviously, this is a new band.
the first time i heard them, i really thought that they're a cross between the all-american rejects and enrique iglesias, you know him? the latino singer?
what i like about them is that they are fresh and well -fresh.
i dunno, i like the song but it's not that appealing to hit the mainstream.
i see another one-hit wonder here.
so there.
better be good, white tie affair.

rating: 3 stars.

hoobastank's "SO CLOSE SO FAR"

hey, the guys are back and i'm so digging their new song entitled "so close so far"
the first time i heard this, i just know that i have to see the official video so i immediately search for one in youtube.
unfortunately, i did not find one.
so i am patiently waiting.
i really like the song.
bottomline,
i freakin' need to see the video asap.

fall out boy's "AMERICA'S SUITEHEARTS"

i love the song and the video.
the first time i heard and saw the video, i was really amazed.
i love the colorful video, it's so interesting.
and hey, the girl in the video who looks like ashley simpson, pete wentz' wife was Cassadee Pope, the singer from Hey Monday. just for those people who are asking. hehe.
the songs a bit theatrical but i am not minding that because i really enjoy the song.
i have always loved fall out boy.
they always give us weird yet interesting videos.
kudos to them.
how i wish i can go to their concert here in the philippines and it's on february 13, 2009.

nickelback's "SOMETHING IN YOUR MOUTH"

the title is so kewl.
hehehehe.
green-minded people, unite.
i have always loved nickelback eversince.
now they're back with a new song that is so green. hahaha.
i love the line in the chorus. it is so naughty.

"And tease them all by sucking on your thumb,
You're so much cooler when you never pull it out,
'Cause you look so much cuter
With something in your mouth"

i love that line. it's as if he is suggesting something really really naughty.
hehehehe.
anyways, i love the song especially the really kewl lyrics.
i think i'm gonna sing this song for a while.
so there.

rating: 4 stars

shiny toy guns' "GHOST TOWN"

what a gwen stefani wanna-be.
why not try to be a better version, i mean gwen stefani is gwen stefani so why copy her?
hehehe.
honestly, it sounded more like a cheer song than a rock song.
add to that the really annoying cheering drumbeats. argh.
but i love the transition. from the cheeky beats to the sick nasty beats. i love that.
the girl massacred the song.
in my own opinion, the guy sings better than the girl.
he should have sang the song alone.
i think he'll nail it alone. hehehehe.
it's neither lovable nor hateful.

rating: 2 stars (granted that the boy sings well.)

katy perry's "THINKING OF YOU"

from the hottie who gave us hits like "i kissed a girl", "you're so gay", "hot n cold" and "use your love", here comes katy perry with her latest song entitled "thinking of you".
to be honest, katy perry is so all over the place.
first, she kissed a girl, she was so gay, then she was either hot or cold and she used my love.
hahahaha.
wordplays.
anyways, i particularly like this song especially the video.
frankly speaking, katy is one heck of a versatile singer.
i like the video which was set in the '80s.
and heck, matt dallas of kyle xy was there, as her love interest.
hehehehe.
bottomline, this song is worth listening.
there.

britney spears' "IF YOU SEEK AMY"

wow. this song's lyrics is a bad ass.
what a fun wordplay miss spears has done with this song.
i know that she's not saying F-U-C-K Me. what she's saying is "If You Seek Amy".
it just sounds like the previous one because it's a bit fast.
but it's not that bad at all.
so why the hell are they banning this song?
i like it.
it's catchy and it has a clever lyrics.
this is really kewl. i swear, this would be a hit if the radio stations would stop banning this song.

okay, here's a line from the chorus:

"all the boys and all the girls are begging to if you seek amy."

if you sing it, you would really hear F-U-C-K Me but then, you are not singing that line, right?
so what's the big deal? Andrew E do this everytime.
personally, i do think the song's fine though it's lyrics is a bit of a nonsense.
so there.

rating: 4 stars.

david cook's "AVALANCHE"

david cook
is back, with vengeance. hehehe.
though the title is forgettable, the song is far from that.
i am super loving this song right now.
it is so perfect for the coming valantine season.
i can't effing wait to see the official video of this one and i also can't wait to hear it on mtv and myx.

"carry me down, rolling in your arms
,
cause i can't remember ever falling this hard,
tell me tonight, all that we have been,

was is nothing more than a noise inside my head,

crashing down, crashing down,

in your avalanche."

i really love the chorus. it's not that corny yet it's so fun to sing. and hell yeah, it's so damn catchy.
i am waiting to see the official video.
david cook is one hell of a genius. no one, not even david archuleta can arrange songs like this one.
so there.

simple plan's "SAVE YOU"

to be honest, i've always loved this band since i was in high school.
i really enjoy their angst-ridden songs. i will always love that.
up to now, i still listen to them even if they are not producing more songs these days.
i really love the fact that they made this song for the cancer survivors, that is so kind of them.
i like the song and the official video. even if i can't relate to them, i can feel the sincerity.
and i love it that they are showing their philanthropic side by establishing a foundation dedicated to the cancer survivors. aw.
so there.
and hey, i'm a fan.
hehehe.

the red jumpsuit apparatus' "YOU BETTER PRAY"

oh my jeez!
what is the meaning of this?
am i just dreaming? i hope i am not.
from emo/screamo, they are turning into one heck of a grunge band, and i love it!
i have always loved the red jumpsuit apparatus ever since their your guardian angel.
i like the video and heck the blond girl in a short skirt is effing hawt!
i love the pen and paper scenes, it is really fun!
and i also love the mob/crowd/moshpit, that was really awesome.
anyways, to make this short, i love it that they are turning into a grunge band.
i really love that.
i hope to hear more from them.
that's all.
there.

the killers' "SPACEMAN"

after giving us mr. brightside and human, the guys are back with their new song "spaceman".
to be honest, it's not that nice.
yeah, it's damn catchy but unlike their previous songs, this one is not that "wonderful".
hehehehe.
but since i love the band, i'm trying my best to like the song.
i know it will take me weeks to like this but believe me, i'll try my best to like this.
anyways, up to now, i still can't forget the very awesome production number of the killers at the last mtv europe music awards. it was damn hawt!
so there.

ratings: 2 stars.

david archuleta's "A LITTLE TOO NOT OVER YOU"

finally!
this is a good song from david archuleta since crush, i really like this.
this is really better than his first two songs.
let me quote lightacandle5 from youtube:

lightacandle5 says:

"David combines his boyish charm and his smoldering masculinity to create an unforgettable video!!! And of course, there is his breathtakingly beautiful voice!!! David seems to be getting more comfortable with being in front of the camera; he is turning out to be quite a good actor. I totally feel his agony over losing this lovely girl. I am so enjoying watching David's ascent into superstardom!!"

whoa!
wtf?
what the fan?
hehehe.
anyways, i like the song though the video still sucks.
and i still prefer david cook over david archuleta.
but melody-wise, i really like this song.
can't wait to hear this on mtv and myx.
there.

happy holidays, creatures!

december 30, 2008
8:30 pm

dear blogspot,

hey! happy holidays! i do hope you all enjoyed the long holiday vacation sans the terrible school homeworks. you should be happy. hehehe.
anyways, unlike you, i am not experiencing that happiness right now.
i dunno. but believe me, i really can't feel that.
talk about numbness? maybe i've grown too tired to celebrate christmas.
but that can't be. i love christmas especially the presents. hehehe.
we celebrated christmas with my cousins, and relatives but to no avail, i still don't feel the warmth of the season. (all i felt was the coldness of the weather.)
then, i am supposed to celebrate the new year with my tita in silay but the problem is that lolo won't have any companion this new year.
so i have to sacrifice.
aw.
i really don't feel the season.
and i miss my family in manila so much.
so there.

the fray's "YOU FOUND ME"

after hours of listening to this song, i just fell in love with it.
we now have a love affair. hehehe.
i am not a fan of the fray but i just love their songs especially their "how to save a life"
i dunno but they have these nice songs that are catchy enough for me.
however, i never liked their videos unless you pair it with a grey's anatomy clip. hehe.
the verdict?
it is nice. nice because it is catchy.
there.

incubus' "LOVE HURTS"

i am loving the song after i've listened to it for the first time a while ago.
then, i immediately searched for it's video on youtube but to my dismay, the video was a junk.
unlike the video of anna molly, the video of love hurts was really boring to death that i wanted to take a nap in front of the computer.
hehehehe.
but seriously, i like the song, i like it so much. so i don't mind if the video was a bit crappy.
and to top it all, i am a big fan and it's so nice to hear a new song from them.
too bad i wasn't present when they visited the philippines.
the reason -i was too young. (the heck?)
but still, i'm hoping that they'll visit us again.
there.

saved by PLURK..

december 15, 2008
monday
3:00 pm

dear blogspot,

hey there.
this is a very boring day so i decided to open my plurk account.
and hell yeah, my karma is back to zero.
how is that?
oh well, i only open my account when there is nothing to do.
there.
atleast, i was entertained -maybe.
i did open it because i was very exhausted.
wanna know why?
i got my sss number earlier this morning and damn, it was a riot there.
and i am totally relieved that i finally finished it considering the very long and winding queue at the cashier.
