goin' back to manila baby!

dear blogspot,

atlast!

the long wait's over baby!

i'm goin' back to my beloved manila.

hehehe.

it's ironic that i keep on longing for manila even if manila's one of the weirdest(for me) place to live. haha.

i dunno, i just love manila and i have to accept it's flaws, imperfections and mountains of trash. hehe.

i grew up in manila so i guess i got used to all the hustles and bustles of the city, and i even missed the heavy traffic jams, how is that?

i missed every place i've been to when i was in manila.

that sick nasty jones bridge, the much-invaded-by-tupians luneta park, quiapo, divisoria, the metropolitan makati, the fast-progressing quezon city -everythin'.

so til here.

lurve manila!

:)

american idol season 8 is really back.

february 11, 2009
thursday

dear blogspot,

hey the long wait is over -i mean it was over.
they are singing their hearts out to be in the most coveted idol top 24.
i mean who would not sing his heart out?

here are my early favorites:

ANOOP DESAI- hey, the guy's an indian. seriously, i wasn't expecting him to be that good. i guess first impression isn't always right. i love his performance wherein he sang that "my prerogative" song.

ADAM LAMBERT- the guy could be the next david cook. with vocal prowess like that, who wouldn't be impress? some of his performances sounded too theatrical because he was -you got it, he is from the music theater. did you hear him singing cher's believe? it was sick brilliant. hahaha.

LIL ROUNDS
- i'm not a fan of power belters but i fell inlove with this really awesome girl.
look what she did the day she sang whitney's i will always love you? the judges were awestruck and so was i.

SCOTT MCINTYRE- who would forget scott mcintyre? the visually impaired contestant who gave me goosebumps when he sang daughtry's home. i know that i'll he'll be in the top 12.

so there.
as of now, they are only the ones who impressed me.
who knows, maybe one of them will be the next idol.

jesse mccartney's "HOW DO YOU SLEEP"

hey.
it seems that jmac hasn't graduated from teeny-bopper songs yet.
with his new song, who would suspect that he is already 20 something?
not a fan since then but the song is damn catchy like his song beautiful song.
so far so good for jesse.
not a fan but i like it.
there.

kelly clarkson's "MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU"

hey.
after resting for months, the original american idol is back with her still spunky songs.
now she's ready to kick some ass with her latest single "my life would suck without you".
she will always be a good singer.
she is able to belt out really high tunes and yet she's still likeable.
(trivia: i am not so fond of the charice pempengco type. they make my ears bleed.)
she is a good cross between a rock and a pop singer that's why she hit the mainstream.
okay.
so i guess, kelly clarkson is really here( i mean in the music industry, stupid) to stay.
she may not be the most good-looking idol but atleast she's one of the best and she is the only one to sold millions of albums.
kudos.
so there.

the white tie affair's "CANDLE"

obviously, this is a new band.
the first time i heard them, i really thought that they're a cross between the all-american rejects and enrique iglesias, you know him? the latino singer?
what i like about them is that they are fresh and well -fresh.
i dunno, i like the song but it's not that appealing to hit the mainstream.
i see another one-hit wonder here.
so there.
better be good, white tie affair.

hoobastank's "SO CLOSE SO FAR"

hey, the guys are back and i'm so digging their new song entitled "so close so far"
the first time i heard this, i just know that i have to see the official video so i immediately search for one in youtube.
unfortunately, i did not find one.
so i am patiently waiting.
i really like the song.
bottomline,
i freakin' need to see the video asap.

fall out boy's "AMERICA'S SUITEHEARTS"

i love the song and the video.
the first time i heard and saw the video, i was really amazed.
i love the colorful video, it's so interesting.
and hey, the girl in the video who looks like ashley simpson, pete wentz' wife was Cassadee Pope, the singer from Hey Monday. just for those people who are asking. hehe.
the songs a bit theatrical but i am not minding that because i really enjoy the song.
i have always loved fall out boy.
they always give us weird yet interesting videos.
kudos to them.
how i wish i can go to their concert here in the philippines and it's on february 13, 2009.
